STEPHEN INNS CMILT / OPERATING SINCE 1999

Advice from the
operating seat.

Stephen Inns CMILT has run a transport business since 1999. Today, AIM Freight operates from Lichfield in the West Midlands, serving customers across the UK.

AIM Transport Partners brings that experience to the team’s support: daily work sourcing, understanding the numbers and building reliable habits as an owner-driver business.

It’s for people who want to run a business—not just own a van.

ALREADY OWN A VEHICLE?

Your vehicle.
Our team finding the work.

From a small van to a larger commercial vehicle, we start with what you operate and where you want to work.

Already have a vehicle but need help finding suitable work? AIM Transport Partners draws on our established customer base and wider transport network to source opportunities for your business.

Our team looks at your vehicle’s size, body type, usable payload, location and availability. Whether you run a small van, a larger van, a Luton or an HGV, we discuss the work it can realistically carry and the operating requirements before getting started.

We look for suitable outbound and return loads, discuss the rate and job requirements with you, and help you consider the full journey—including empty miles, waiting and running costs—before you decide whether to accept.

Work depends on customer demand, suitability, availability and operator approval. No minimum number of jobs, earnings or profit is guaranteed.

01

Tell us what you run.

Vehicle size, payload, equipment, base location and availability.

02

We search the network.

Our team looks for suitable opportunities through AIM’s customers and wider transport contacts.

03

You review the job.

Discuss rates, timings and requirements before accepting work.

04

Build a working routine.

Share availability, keep us updated and review what works for your business.

02 / THE BUSINESS BEHIND THE DRIVING

A van is the start.
The business is everything else.

Guidance that connects the decisions:
what you buy, what you charge and what you keep.

01

Vehicle sourcing

Practical help comparing vans, usable payload, service history and total ownership costs. Buy for the work you can realistically do.

02

Insurance preparation

Understand the questions to ask and information to prepare. Policy recommendations and arranging cover belong with an authorised insurance broker.

03

Accounts & bookkeeping

Get organised for invoicing, expenses, payment tracking and working with an accountant. Accountant introductions are planned; provider fees would be separate.

04

Rates that make sense

Allow for fuel, finance, maintenance, empty miles and your time. Learn to recognise work that generates turnover but leaves little behind.

05

Customers & operations

Build reliable quoting, collection updates, proof of delivery and payment follow-up. Get ready to work with customers professionally.

06

The pitfalls, explained

Waiting time, unsuitable loads, breakdowns, late payers and cash-flow gaps. Prepare for the difficult days before they become expensive lessons.

Support from your first idea onwards.

Mentoring is practical business education. Specialist tax, legal, finance and insurance advice comes from appropriately qualified providers.

    GOOD QUESTIONS. STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

    Before you
    take the next step.

    Ask Stephen a question ↗
    When would my subscription start?

Enquiring and applying are free. Start with an introductory call, then complete the relevant operator and vehicle checks. We agree your plan, service terms and subscription start date before you pay. If you have no vehicle yet, speak with Stephen about getting ready first. Paid subscriptions are not open yet.

How and when am I paid for completed jobs?

Your monthly subscription pays for sourcing and support. Payment for transport jobs is separate. Before you accept a job, we agree the rate, who you invoice, who pays you, the payment period and the proof-of-delivery requirements. Do not assume every customer or booking has the same payment terms.

    What happens during quieter periods?

Our team continues searching around your vehicle, operating area and availability, and discusses suitable options with you. Demand varies and we cannot promise a minimum amount of work. The subscription pays for sourcing and support, rather than a guaranteed number of jobs. You can cancel before the next renewal if you do not wish to continue.

Can I start without a vehicle?

Yes. The first step is working through your goals, costs and options. You can use the roadmap and calculator before buying or leasing a vehicle. There is no requirement to own a van to learn.

Will you help me source a van?

The proposed support helps you define a suitable specification, compare shortlists and understand operating costs. We can help you compare a vehicle shortlist and understand the running costs. Vehicle purchases, inspections and finance are separate decisions and costs; no dealer or lender partnership is confirmed.

Can you help with accountants and insurance?

Yes, through preparation, checklists and planned introductions to suitable professional providers. Accountancy and broker services would be contracted and paid separately. AIM does not currently offer regulated insurance advice or arrange insurance through this concept.

Does membership guarantee work or profit?

No. The plans cover daily work sourcing and practical business support. Suitable work depends on customer demand, your vehicle, availability and operator approval. Neither plan guarantees a number of jobs, revenue or profit. Unlimited means there is no job-count cap.

How is the monthly job allowance counted?

Each vehicle has its own monthly allowance. AIM-sourced jobs count when you accept and complete them; cancellations are excluded. Up to 20 completed jobs costs £250 per vehicle per month. Job 21 moves that vehicle to £450 total for the month, with no job-count cap. We agree the higher fee before you accept job 21. The billing period and detailed service terms will be confirmed before launch.

What support comes with the plans?

Daily work sourcing plus practical guidance on rates, costs, vehicles and suppliers. Both plans include the business blueprint. Support arrangements and availability will be agreed before starting; this is not a 24-hour emergency service. Professional and supplier fees are separate.

    Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no minimum term. Cancel before your next monthly renewal; your service continues until the end of the paid period, then stops without another renewal. Stripe billing is being prepared for cancellation at the end of the paid billing period. Paid subscriptions are not open yet.

    Can I subscribe now?

The website is open for enquiries. Membership applications, document uploads and paid subscriptions are not open yet. Call or message Stephen to discuss your starting point. The plans are monthly and cancel anytime, with no minimum term. Final service terms and launch availability will be confirmed before payment is taken.
